Shots From the Set of 'Fast 8' Stars-#Fast8

Fast 8, the latest sequel in the monster Fast and the Furious franchise, is currently in production with director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) at the helm. Plot details are still scarce, but the movie is shooting in New York City, Iceland, and Cuba, among other locales, and is featuring new cast members like Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood in key roles. Click through to see some of the shots from the set so far, including a first look at Theron’s badass villain. The movie will cruise into theaters in April 2017.

As the cast filmed in Iceland, fans were treated to snowbound photos including this shot of a cool Hobbs, “The Iceman cometh. And I don’t f—eth around,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. (Photo: TheRock/Instagram)

Dom’s Dodge

Dom’s distinctive muscle car makes a return appearance in Fast 8 and looks to have taken some serious gunfire already. It won’t be the first time his Charger gets mangled. (Photo: Facebook)

Letty’s Rally Fighter

Looks like Michelle Rodriguez will be driving this on the ice: “Quick, gritty and agile. Letty’s car fits her like a glove.” (Photo: Facebook)

Dwayne Johnson

Johnson instagrammed this first look photo at his character Luke Hobbs in Fast 8.′ With his boss leather vest and biker goatee, the look is a definite departure for the by-the-book DSA agent, something Johnson addressed in the caption: “If I was going to return for another FAST & FURIOUS I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way…. Maybe it’s a spinoff movie. Maybe it’s more #FF movies. Or hell maybe Hobbs just gets on his motorcycle and rides off into the sunset never to be seen again.” (Photo: Instagram)

Charlize Theron

On May 20, we got our first in-character look at Theron, who is playing a Metallica-tee-wearing baddie named Cipher. We’re not sure what Cipher’s problem is with the Fast family yet, but we do know Theron already knows her way around a souped-up car: Fast 8 director F. Gary Gray directed her in the 2003 heist movie The Italian Job and previously said she was one of the better drivers in the dude-heavy cast. “We really didn’t have to teach Charlize how to drive,” he said in a featurette. “We were just trying to hold her back.” (Photo: @Furious8Movie/Twitter)

F. Gary Gray

Gray posted this photo with the caption: “Whose ’70 #Chevelle SS is this, and which Fast and Furious is this from?” We’re gonna say only Dom (Vin Diesel) could pull off a muscle car like this one — like he did at the end of the first The Fast and the Furious. (Photo: fgarygray/Instagram)

Gibson wrote: “Roman and Tej are back at it and up to NO GOOD!!!! First day of shooting #Fast8 we need y’all to quote some of the most classic #RomanAndTej funny lines.” (Photo: Tyrese/Instagram)

Obasanjo's Plans for ING

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has set his mind on regime change “by fair or foul means” and is plotting to plunge Nigeria into crisis, presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has said. He was reacting to statements credited to Obasanjo on Saturday that President Goodluck Jonathan was plotting to win the 2015 general election by “hook or crook”. Obasanjo had endorsed Jonathan’s main challenger Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, but then seemed to backtrack on Thursday. There are insinuations that Obasanjo is not well disposed to Buhari either and would want an interim national government (ING) to be headed by him to midwife new elections in which neither Jonathan nor Buhari would be candidates.

Regina Askia writes President Buhari on state of nation

Onetime actress turned nurse, Regina Askia Williams, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari on the state of nation. Thanking the president for his fight against corruption, the actress asked why there seem to be one unrest after the other in the country. “Thank you for all your effort at containing the corruption in Nigeria however unpopular," she began. Continuing, she wrote, 'Nigerians elected you through serious acrimony, loosing several lives and facing deadly unrest but they chose you. Though you are from the North of OUR country you are president of all. How is it that violence and deaths still hold sway? 'My hope and prayer was that on your ascension you would deploy our military with fiat and alacrity armed to the teeth and silence or at least contain Boko Haram. My prayer was that as a seasoned General you would not only flush out king pins and barons but retrieve the loot as you napped them one after the other but we see them working for you. Is th...
