Shaolin Soccer'-School In Central China To Combine Kung Fu With Soccer

A Kungfu school in Dengfeng city, where Shaolin Monastery located in Central China, is aiming to teach students how to apply Kungfu skills into playing soccer. The school is planning to choose 50 boys and 50 girls from some 30,000 Kungfu students into two new soccer classes. The students chosen will be from 10 years old to 12 years old. “Combining martial arts with soccer is a reform in our soccer system”, said Zhang Wenshen, head of physical culture department from local government.

Fielding the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in the 2011 and 2015 presidential elections was a costly mistake by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Chairman of the party’s national conference organising committee, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has said. Dokpesi, who spoke at a media briefing in Abuja, Tuesday, said theimposition of Jonathan by the PDP might have been responsible for the party’s loss of the presidency in the last general election. He said the zoning formula put in place by the party’s founding fathers was jettisoned by its leadership at the time. According to him, the PDP made the first mistake when it failed to retain the party’s 2011 presidential ticket in the North after the death of former President Umaru Yar ‘Adua. How Code Of Conduct Tribunal Judge Received N10 Million Bribe (DOCUMENT)

Former Attorney General (AGF) of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke (SAN), had recommended the removal from office and prosecution of the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr Danladi Umar, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged collection of bribe. The justice minister’s recommendation, which came before the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan expired last May, was predicated on the report of an investigation by the EFCC into an allegation by a retired Comptroller of Customs, Mr Rasheed Taiwo, that Umar demanded N10 million bribe from him to quash a case against him. Dasuki Files Suit Against DSS

The buck passing between former National Security Adviser and the Department Of State Services (DSS) continues with Colonel Dasuki dragging the DSS to court to protest his continued detention. Colonel Dasuki is asking the court for a mandatory order directing the Department of State Services to remove all human and non-human barricades laid around his residence. He said that this has hindered the accomplishment of the orders of the court which gave him permission to travel abroad for medical attention. Colonel Dasuki is also asking the court to extend its order which allows him leave to travel as the said time has been breached by barricades laid by the DSS.

N5000 stipend: Group carpets Buhari for ‘denying promises’, to drag him to court

South East Progressives Assembly, SEPA, has threatened court action against President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruing All Progressives Congress, APC, over the inability of the Federal Government to commence the payment of the monthly N5,000 stipend it promised unemployed Nigerian youths. The reigning U-17 World Cup champions, Golden Eaglets, will arrive the country’s capital city of Abuja Wednesday afternoon, an official has said. Nigeria won a fifth FIFA U-17 World Cup on Monday after defeating Mali 2-0 in an all-African final in Vena Del Mar, Chile. “The Golden Eaglets will land in Abuja between 2:00pm and 3:00pm on Wednesday. Economist magazine slams Lagos governor, says he’s “incompetent, full of excuses”

Medicine graduates without licenses barred from NYSC

The Registrar/Chief Executive of MDCN, Dr. Abdulmumini Ibrahim, said in a statement on Monday 10th of November in Abuja that graduates of medicine would henceforth be barred from participating in the compulsory NYSC until they have secured a licence to practise, ThisDay reports. The licences are issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Ibrahim said: “There has been an increasing number of persons who are impersonating medical doctors. The NYSC has inundated us with complaints. Those who have completed their one-year internship have been given certificates. They can only go to service upon presentation of their licences. The council has directed that the practice of admitting persons into the NYSC as doctors on the strength of receipt of payment of the application fee for full registration be discontinued.
