Full list of 241 companies that got contracts in last 4 years by NSA to be investigated

The ‘Contract Verification Committee’ of the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) has released a newspaper advertorial with a list of 241 companies which were awarded contracts from the office between 2011 and 2015. EFCC Operatives Raid Former Custom CG’s Residence

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday raided the residence of the former Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr Abdullahi Dikko, in Abuja. The anti-graft personnel were said to have arrived at the house located at 6, Ahmed Musa Crescent, Jabi, at about 7 a.m. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt that Dikko was not at home when the officers arrived and that their mission was not disclosed to any member of the family who were in the house. When NAN arrived at the residence, armed officials of EFCC were seen around the house. One of the four armed policemen, who accompanied the operatives on the operation, told NAN on condition of anonymity that their presence around the house was to ensure that there was no breakdown of law and order. 3,032 Pardoned Soldiers Refuse to Rejoin the Fight Against Boko Haram

3032 Nigerian soldiers who were pardoned last August for various offences during campaigns against the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, have rejected postings to the North-East. According to VANGUARD, the soldiers explained that they were never really pardoned and re-integrated into the Army, but rather, re-sentenced to the war front. The soldiers are claiming that they have not been fully re-instated into the Nigerian Army, because attempts by them to report to their units were rejected at their bases since they have no re-instatement letters. They also said that since they have been kicked out of the barracks they have not been paid for seven months making their families who live off-barracks begging for food. Things You Should Know About The Deadly Viral Illness Lassa Fever

Lassa fever is one of the lethal viral haemorrhagic fevers, apart from Ebola, Dengue and some others. It's predominantly a disease of West Africa that was first discovered in 1969 in a Nigerian town called Lassa where two missionary nurses died from the disease. Since then, there have been periodic epidemic outbreaks of the disease in different parts of Nigeria and the West African subcontinent. Furthermore, it is instructive to note that there is even an ongoing outbreak of this viral illness that has affected no less than 150 people in seven states of Nigeria namely Taraba, Kano, Rivers, Bauchi, Oyo, Niger and Nasarawa. Ahead of Poll, Bayelsa Speaker’s Residence Bombed, Home of D’Gov’s Brother Invaded

Barely 48 hours to the supplementary elections in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday engaged themselves in an all-out bloody battle that saw the house of the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Konbowei Benson, in Korkosei community of Southern Ijaw council area attacked with explosives suspected to be dynamite by unknown masked attackers. The speaker, who confirmed the incident yesterday, accused the APC of hiring thugs who attacked his house.
