Lai Mohammed Insists Boko Haram Is Defeated " isolated bomb attacks on soft targets should not be mixed up with the terrorism"

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that media should stop “giving oxygen to the Boko Haram”, adding that the war cannot be successful without the cooperation of newsmen. The minister of information believes the Nigerian army has mainly succeeded in defeating the insurgency because the militants are now “only operating from one or two local governments”. Ifa Worshippers Offer To Fight Boko Haram

Ifa religious worshippers under the aegis of Ancient Religion Societies of African Descendants International Council have said they are ready to assist Nigeria to combat the Boko Haram insurgents ravaging some states in the North-East. The Chairman, Executive Working Committee of ARSADIC, Dr. Olalekan Ifagbenuola, said this on Friday at a press conference held at Ile Oduduwa, Ile Ife, to seek government recognition for the group. Ifagbenuola stated that corruption among public office holders was the reason for the increasing rate of crimes in the country, saying this would stop if public office holders were made to take the oath of office in traditional religious ways. Abuja IDPs Get Relief Materials

Succour has come to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kabusa village in Abuja, as over 1,000 displaced persons get relief materials from the Nigeria Liquefied and Natural Gas (NLNG). The donations were made under the “I Care Programme”, an initiative of the NLNG, which is targeted at IDPs across Nigeria. According to the team, they have contributed both materials and cash to procure critical needs for the IDPs in the north-east and Edo State it the south-south 

. Part of the materials are food items and clothing. Apart from the donations, the NLNG staff also ear-marked 15 million Naira, to make life better for the IDPs across the nation. Meanwhile, Muna, a non-governmental organisation, who partnered with the NLNG in the intervention, urged the government and other corporate organisations to invest in education and security in the north-east.

Police Confirm 11 Dead In Adamawa Suicide Bombing

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 11 persons, by two female suicide bombers who attacked Dar village in Madagali Loal Government Area of Adamawa State on Saturday night. The suicide bombers suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist group invaded the village and particularly chose a crowded area where they detonated the explosive devices they had strapped on themselves. Police spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Othman Abubakar, told Channels Television in Yola, the capital of the state, that bodies of the suicide bombers were discovered among those of the innocent lives lost. Mr Abubakar said three houses were burnt while most of the wounded persons were receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Yola.
