In their official move to the Golden Theater on Broadway, “Eclipsed” will hold the historic distinction of being the first show on the Great White Way with both an entirely female cast and creative team; in addition to the cast and creative team being entirely Black, according to ABC News Radio correspondent Karu F. Daniels.

Also, the show’s two lead producers, Stephen Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey, also happen to be African-American.

“Eclipsed” is written by Danai Gurira (“The Walking Dead”), and directed by Obie Award winner director Liesl Tommy (“Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”).

The play boasts a laundry list of additional producers, among them actress/TV host LaLa Anthony and public relations veteran Marvet Britto.

“Eclipsed” starts in previews on Feb. 23 and officially opens March 6.
