Biafra Separatist Members To Carry Arms In Self-defence Henceforth — IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has declared that its members would henceforth bear arms in a move to defend themselves against attack from security agencies in the country.
The group made the declaration in a release issued yesterday by its spokesperson, Emma Nmezu, which was made available to newsmen in Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB Nnamdi Kanu,Umuahia.
It said that it could no longer bear the mindless killing of its harmless members. He said that no fewer than 50 members of the group have been killed.
“Now, we have come to the painful but irreversible conclusion and determination to take our fate and destiny in our own hands. Starting from Wednesday, February 10, 2016, Biafrans will now bear arms in self-defense as enshrined by the relevant acts and declarations of the United Nations.
“Let no country or world leader attempt to tag us as terrorists because we are not terrorists. Rather we are fighting for our survival and from being exterminated from the surface of the earth,” the release said.
The statement titled: “Our Rights to self-defence is now activated” further noted: “We shall defend ourselves with everything and anything necessary to avoid the continual killing of our mothers, fathers, and children. This is the time for all Biafrans to rise and defend themselves.
We cannot fold our arms and watch the Federal Government of Nigeria to continue to kill us after killing over two million during the Biafra war from 1968-70.”
The release stated that on September 2015, IPOB disclosed attacks on its members in a statement in which it alerted the world of the plan to “provoke Biafrans into retaliation with the aim of tagging it a terrorist organisation. This was before the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was illegally abducted by agents of the Department of State Services (DSS) on October 14, 2015.”
It further noted that between “October 2015 and February 8, 2016 more attacks were carried out against the agitators by Nigerian security agents under the instructions of President Muhammadu Buhari, leading to the untimely and gruesome death of over 50 protesters while thousands of others were seriously injured or maimed,” including the murder of 10 defenceless Biafrans at Aba recently where they were offering prayers for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“We have written several letters and notifications to Heads of Governments of all countries and members of their Legislative Arms on the plights of the Indigenous People of Biafra as we face extermination by the gun-toting and trigger-happy armed agents of Nigeria under the order of Muhammadu Buhari’’, it noted.

Obasanjo's Plans for ING

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has set his mind on regime change “by fair or foul means” and is plotting to plunge Nigeria into crisis, presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has said. He was reacting to statements credited to Obasanjo on Saturday that President Goodluck Jonathan was plotting to win the 2015 general election by “hook or crook”. Obasanjo had endorsed Jonathan’s main challenger Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, but then seemed to backtrack on Thursday. There are insinuations that Obasanjo is not well disposed to Buhari either and would want an interim national government (ING) to be headed by him to midwife new elections in which neither Jonathan nor Buhari would be candidates.

Regina Askia writes President Buhari on state of nation

Onetime actress turned nurse, Regina Askia Williams, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari on the state of nation. Thanking the president for his fight against corruption, the actress asked why there seem to be one unrest after the other in the country. “Thank you for all your effort at containing the corruption in Nigeria however unpopular," she began. Continuing, she wrote, 'Nigerians elected you through serious acrimony, loosing several lives and facing deadly unrest but they chose you. Though you are from the North of OUR country you are president of all. How is it that violence and deaths still hold sway? 'My hope and prayer was that on your ascension you would deploy our military with fiat and alacrity armed to the teeth and silence or at least contain Boko Haram. My prayer was that as a seasoned General you would not only flush out king pins and barons but retrieve the loot as you napped them one after the other but we see them working for you. Is th...
