Ebonyi born, Jude Nkama sworn in as Judge in Newark Municipal court, USA; sets 349yrs record




Jude Nkama, Ebonyi state born Nigerian, was today sworn-in as Judge of Newark Municipal Court in New Jersey, USA.
Nkama who contested to run for Governorship under the Progressive Peoples Alliance in the 2011 General Elections which he lost to Martins Elechi of the Peoples Democratic Party becomes the 1st African in the 349 year history of the city.
Jude Nkama worked as the Corporation Counsel for the City of Newark in New Jersey and advised the Mayor and other top level administration.  He also served as the Municipal prosecutor.
He was appointed as the Associate Defense Counsel at the United Nations Special Court for Sierra Leone.
According to his personal statement, Mr. Nkama says “I am passionate about working in Africa, especially in Nigeria to use my experience in the Western World to improve upon the situation of Africa, our homeland. I want to commit and devote my skills, education and experience to give back to Africa.”
