A US company has come with something truly wonderful – a smartwatch for blind people. The folks at Dot Inc. have come up with a smartwatch that can translate emails, text and notifications from normal digital text to braille, making life much easier for blind people.
Eric Ju Yoon Kim, CEO of Dot Inc., was in the University of Washington when he attended a meeting in which a blind student attended with a gigantic book in hand. The book was the Bible translated in braille.
After this experience, Kim researched to see if there was any digital device that catered to the needs of blind people but to his surprise, such technology didn’t exist yet.
Kim decided to gather a team of specialists in hardware, software, and design, and that was how Dot Inc. was born.
The company’s latest product is the Dot Watch, a stylish smartwatch that converts texts, emails, notifications and so on into braille.
