Stuntwoman Olivia Jackson will lose her arm after suffering a motorcycle accident on the set of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter earlier this year.
"My left arm is paralyzed and is going to have to be amputated," the 34-year-old stunt double wrote on a Gofundme page set up for her benefit.
Jackson, who had recently worked on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, lost control of her bike when the vehicle slammed into a heavy camera arm on set in early September.
"It's a miracle that she survived," Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich wrote on her Facebook page. "All of us here have been praying every single day for her and her family and sending our thoughts out hoping some of the positive energy reaches her, because she truly needs it."
In addition to losing the arm, Jackson writes, "My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face." After her next round of operations, she hopes to "regain some shoulder function a couple years down the line."
Jackson, who was put into a medically induced coma following the accident, jokes that her walking has now "improved to the standard of a 2 yr old toddler." While she calls the nerve pain "excruciating," Jackson writes, "I'm truly grateful to be alive."
Jackson works out of England and is married to British stunt performer David Grant. At the time of the accident, Grant wrote on his Facebook page, "I want you all to know that she has been making steady progress and your thoughts and good vibes are all working so please keep them up!"
Since starting out in the stunt business in 2011, she's worked on several blockbuster action movies including Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy and Mad Max: Fury Road.
