Actor awarded a 'CBE' by Duke of Cambridge


Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, has made Chinwetel Ejiofor a Commander of the order of the British Empire, for his service to drama.

'12 Years A Slave’ star Chinwetel Ejiofor was recently made a Commander of the order of the British Empire.
The actor received the award from the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, during an official ceremony held at Buckingham Palace in London on Tuesday, October 26, 2015.
The actor, who grew up in London, received the recognition for his service to drama.
Discussing his CBE award, his sister, CNN presenter Zain Asher, said the BAFTA award winner always dreamt of acting.
"He's been acting since he was 13 years old and he's worked so hard for this. Growing up with him he was always in his bedroom practising Shakespeare lines, writing Shakespeare on the wall," she said.
Ejiofor received an Oscar nomination and won a BAFTA in 2013 for his performance in ‘12 Years A Slave.’
He made his acting debit in Steven Spielberg's ‘Amistad.’ The 38-year-old actor already received an OBE in 2008.
