Abuja IDPs Get Relief Materials

Succour has come to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kabusa village in Abuja, as over 1,000 displaced persons get relief materials from the Nigeria Liquefied and Natural Gas (NLNG). The donations were made under the “I Care Programme”, an initiative of the NLNG, which is targeted at IDPs across Nigeria. According to the team, they have contributed both materials and cash to procure critical needs for the IDPs in the north-east and Edo State it the south-south 

. Part of the materials are food items and clothing. Apart from the donations, the NLNG staff also ear-marked 15 million Naira, to make life better for the IDPs across the nation. Meanwhile, Muna, a non-governmental organisation, who partnered with the NLNG in the intervention, urged the government and other corporate organisations to invest in education and security in the north-east.

Police Confirm 11 Dead In Adamawa Suicide Bombing

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 11 persons, by two female suicide bombers who attacked Dar village in Madagali Loal Government Area of Adamawa State on Saturday night. The suicide bombers suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist group invaded the village and particularly chose a crowded area where they detonated the explosive devices they had strapped on themselves. Police spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Othman Abubakar, told Channels Television in Yola, the capital of the state, that bodies of the suicide bombers were discovered among those of the innocent lives lost. Mr Abubakar said three houses were burnt while most of the wounded persons were receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Yola. A woman opened the fridge in her garage to discover what is thought to be the body of her missing 11 year  old grandchild, Janiya Thomas. And guess who dropped the fridge in her garage? The missing girl's mother and an unidentified man. Thomas has been missing since August 2014  The women were unaware of its contents until they saw news reports about Janiya and checked inside the fridge in their garage in heir Florida home, the Mirror reported.
 Janiya's mother, 31-year-old Keishanna Thomas, was taken into custody on Friday after police said she refused to answer questions about her daughter's whereabouts.

Tunnel leading to bank premises discovered in Akure

Akure—Crack detectives weekend foiled attempt by some armed robbers to blow up and rob one of the old generation banks in Ondo State by digging an underground tunnel into the premises. The gang, it was gathered, had dug over 15 meters into the bank premises from the fence which is behind the bank at Alagbaka area where it is located in Akure metropolice. Vanguard learned that the tunnel was able to contain three persons at a time, while the place from where the hoodlums operated, is isolated from other buildings. It was gathered that the tunnel would have been dug into the banking hall if it had not been discovered by the detectives. Police source said the gang that planned the robbery would have operated at the weekend when the bank staff would not be at work. Sources said the bankers would have resumed to discover that the banks vault had been blown off and all the money carted away.
