Amidst growing concerns on the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari, the President’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, on Thursday, disclosed that the President would go on another medical vacation. Customs vehicle set ablaze over import duty by car dealers in Kaduna

But for the timely intervention of the Kaduna State security outfit, code-named ‘Operation Yaki’, the state capital would have been thrown into another crisis as car dealers and Customs officials clashed on Thursday. In the melee, the car dealers set ablaze a Customs’ patrol vehicle. The incident, which took place along the Rabah Road, in Kaduna North Local Government, occurred at about 3pm when Customs officials had gone on patrol to impound vehicles without import duties from car dealers in the city. At about 4pm, the men of the Kaduna State Fire Service were still battling to put out the fire on the patrol vehicle. Motorists and other road users as well as passersby scamper for safety while security operatives from the ‘Operation Yaki’ outfit cordon off the area. An eyewitness told our correspondent that the Customs officials had gone to an unnamed car dealer’s showroom around  the Isa Kaita road area and impounded about six luxury vehicles which they claimed had no imp...

LEADER of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Kanu Fulfils Bail Condition

LEADER of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday, fulfilled the bail conditions granted by the Federal High Court, Abuja. The bail condition was perfected through the presence of the Chairman, South East Senate caucus and former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, a Jewish High Chief Priest, Immanuu-El Shalom and a Chartered Accountant residing in Abuja, Tochukwu Uchendu.

IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu granted bail as he is joined by Gov Fayose at the court

The governor is now seated at the Federal High Court 4, Abuja. The court had on April 6 fixed today to deliver ruling in the application for variation of the order of court on protection of witnesses in the case against Kanu. Kanu, through his defence counsels led by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, asked the court to set aside the order made on December 13, 2016 for the protection of witnesses. Kanu’s lawyers argued that having been acquitted of the charges of terrorism and importation of weapons, the defendants cannot be tried with the identities of witnesses based on section 36(6) of the 1999 Constitution. However, counsel to the Federal Government, Suleiman Labaran in a counter affidavit urged the court to dismiss the application as a ploy to delay the trial. Recall that Kanu was charged alongside Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi on charges of treasonable felony and criminal defamation. The Federal High Court had on March 2nd, struck-out six out of the...
