Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Teaser: First Hint At How Jon Snow Survives Death?

Does this mean Jon Snow is alive?! The Season 6 teaser for Game of Thrones dropped on Dec. 3, and we’re getting some serious Jon Snow resurrection vibes from it. Think it’s just wishful thinking? Check it out for yourself, here! Okay guys, we know that this might just be our major crush talking, but we really think Jon (Kit Harington) might be alive. The new GoT teaser doesn’t give a whole lot to go on – it’s filled with old scenes of our favorite characters getting stabbed, maimed, sliced and exploded, while the new Three-Eyed Raven’s voice can be heard saying “the past is written, the ink is already dry.” That seems to mean that what’s done is done, but there is just one clue that might hint that Jon isn’t gone for good. Bran Stark is back! Jon’s youngest brother with warging powers (the ability to take over the body of animals) went MIA for all of Season 5, and this is the first we’ve seen of the crippled young Stark since. The crazy part is that we see him with his eyes rol...

Why we must cut minimum wage or sack workers — Nigerian governors

Nigerian governors will eventually reduce the federal minimum wage of N18,000 or downsize because of the current economic crunch, the chairman of the body of governors has said. The chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, said on Thursday that irrespective of public condemnations of the plan, it would not be economically feasible to retain the same workforce and pay same amount of money. According to him, funds allocated from the Federation Account could no longer sustain the expenses of the state as the internally generated revenue was still below par in some states. Governors had two weeks ago declared that they could no longer cope with the N18, 000 minimum wage. The pronouncement caused a stir as Nigerians kicked against it. The governors of Rivers and Edo rejected the plan. Emerging from a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House Abuja, on Thursday, Mr. Yari said the governors were considering the nation’s econ...

I am Not a Rapist, Mustapha Audu Tells His Story

Perhaps the biggest rape scandal of the decade, the case of Lotanna Odunze-Igwe and Mustapha Audu, one of the sons of Prince Abubakar Audu, a former two-time governor of Kogi State who passed on last Sunday is an interesting one. Lotanna, popularly known by her social media identity, @sugabelly on Sunday  exposed horrible details  of how she repeatedly suffered sexual abuse in the hands of Mustapha, his brothers, his cousin and his friends. Her tweets, laced with graphic details of brutal sexual assault came moments after news of Prince Audu’s death filtered into the Nigerian media. Her story, gory and dehumanising as she portrayed it, immediately drew the sympathy of a wide section of the Nigerian public with condemnation and attacks targeted at the alleged perpetrators of what many thought was only possible in seedy x-rated Hollywood productions. All through this moment, the accused were silent. Their side of the story was completely lost in the social media mob that was al...

Conditions of service for Ministers

Barely three weeks in office, President Muhammadu Buhari has shocked Ministers with salaries and  allowances. He has also imposed dos and don’ts on the ministers including travel restrictions. Most Ministers were said to be embarrassed by the perks of office accruable to them in office. The only leverage the Ministers will enjoy is the privilege of flying in a Business Class on trips. These conditions of service for Ministers were contained in a letter  given to them during the week by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir David Lawal. The letter said: “I am pleased to inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR,  has  appointed  you as  a  Minister in  the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria “The appointment takes effect from 11th November, 2015 under the following Terms and Conditions of Service as contained in “Certain Political, Public and Jud...

Breaking: APC Picks Yahaya Bello As Audu's Replacement

After extensive consultations, the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday submitted the name of Yahaya Bello as the party's new candidate for Kogi governorship supplementary poll. Bello replaces Prince Abubakar Audu, who died last weekend after leading the poll with 41,000. It was also learnt that the APC has retained Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as the party's deputy governorship candidate. Mohammed Audu, the son of the late governorship candidate, was dumped by the party because the party felt that fielding him might vitiate the entire governorship poll in the state. But the people of Kogi West were mounting pressure on Faleke yesterday not to accept the nomination of Bello. Although they asked Faleke to withdraw from the race, the deputy governorship candidate was yet to make up his mind on the next step at press time. Investigation by our correspondent revealed that APC leaders, with the backing of some forces in the Presidency, opted for Bello because he ca...
